Day 7 (28 October)

After sleeping in for the last day in a long while, we woke up to have smoothies and falafel wraps on our way deep into Banff. The drive to Peyto Lake took 90 minutes and was clear up until the very end when, to Bri’s enjoyment, it started snowing. The road got covered in a dusting and Bri was over the moon. She wanted a winter wonderland wedding, but she decided that a winter wonderland honeymoon was a close second.

The hike to Peyto Lake was a very short hike, but it was definitely not quick. The path was icy and steep and that meant small steps and lots of slipping. The half mile journey took about a half hour, but it was a beautiful view.

The drive back was back out of the snow and into the warm town of Canmore. We stopped at Mii Sushi for dinner and then ended the night with Christmas movies and ice cream.
